Distilled, bottled and labelled from their London Bridge distillery, Dodd’s is an independently produced London Dry Gin and tribute to Ralph Dodd – a British civil engineer from 19th Century London and original founder of the distillery. Having proved popular locally, Dodd’s was looking to move internationally, with a brighter attitude and holiday ritual harking back to trade routes, transport and travel during the industrial revolution.
We combined the industry and geometry synonymous with Victorian engineering with the warm, rich colours of spices, reminiscent of the flavours introduced into Gin distilling from Britain’s original trade routes with Asia. The bottles are shipped from the distillery in our cartographic Dodd’s boxes, to lead them on their journey overseas.
Taking inspiration from luggage labels, prevalent in the ‘golden age’ of travel, the gift offering we created includes a tag and sticker, marking the start of the journey from London, following the bottle to its new proprietor’s destination, complete with a coupe Martini glass, specially designed to mirror the curves of the Dodd’s classic bottle shape.
