BRANDING | Visual Identity

Communicating the studio's key principles through a curated collection of branding

Library’s name derives from the source of creative brands: stories. Stories are told not only through books but through all kinds of objects and media, from historical artefacts to modern ephemera. Library Design Studio recognises and draws from all forms of storytelling to bring creative branding and thoughtful design to every project.

Inspired by museums and galleries, the core branding is reminiscent of an archive, borrowing from modern and classic typographic forms to create a sense of timelessness. The range of assets within the brand allows the aesthetic to adapt across a variety of styles and formats, from subtle, paired back applications, to disruptive eye-catching displays.

Originally situated above a printworks & publishers, the studio aesthetic takes influence from the printing press, typographic forms and classical printing techniques.

The studio icon is a reformed facade of The Great Library of Alexandria, one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world, dedicated to the muses: the nine goddesses of the arts. The icon is our homage to the historical roots of our practice.
